Me, Declan and the Old Boys are in Oberndorf, Germany because it’s the best place in Europe for weapons, I don’t care what you say.

The Russian shit is fine, the Italian and the Austrian manufacturers do okay too, but I can’t go past the lads in Oberndorf.

Been dealing with them since I took over and it’s always been smooth.

Always obliged me with being the first one they show new devices to, the first one they’ll sell things to, private showings, etc.

Flew in this afternoon.

Declan looks over at me as he picks up a new rifle, flipping it over in his hands, trying it out for size.

“Who were you with this morning?” he asks without looking over at me.

“Quinn Miller,” I say as I pick up a different gun. Open the barrel, peer around.

Declan looks over. “Who?”

“The hot waitress from Greenhouse.”

Decks shakes his head a bit amused. “Fuck, you’re good with names…”

“Yeah, I’m a real prince for remember the names of the people I have sex with.”

I am good with names, though, always have been. Intentionally. People respond well to that sort of shit. Makes them feel seen, makes them feel validated. They do more for you that way.

“You stayed there?” He looks over, frowning.

“Hotel,” I tell a different gun.

He puts his gun down, looking confused. “Why?”

“Because—” I pick it back up. “Daisy and Christian are full steam ahead and there’s only so much sex my little quasi-paternal heart can handle.” He doesn’t laugh at that, gives me a weak smile at best, so I guess his thing for Dais is still in full swing.

“That going good then?” he asks, not looking me in the eye.

“Yeah.” I shrug. “She seems pretty happy.”

He nods. “Right, so anyway—” Clears his throat. “What do we need for this job?”

I scratch my chin. The truth is, I don’t completely know. It’s not falling together how I want it to—Scotland Yard has been keeping too close an eye on me for us to just pull a robbery. I think I have a plan, but it’s a lot of wheels in motion.

“I think we’re going to do a misdirect—” I squint over at him. “I can’t figure out how to get them off my arse otherwise.”

“Scotland Yard?”

“And Interpol.” I give him a look.

“That Tiller’s a fucking pain in the arse.”

I nod. “He’s switched on.”

Declan gives me an unimpressed look. “He’s switched on your sister—” A bit rich coming from him, I know, but he’s not wrong.

“Huh—” I squint over at Declan, thinking.

“What?” He frowns.

I shake my head. “You just gave me an idea.”
